What is Mobile Device Management?

Mobile Device Management (MDM) is the process of centrally managing and securing a business’s mobile devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops. MDM involves a number of policies, tools, and technologies that enable IT professionals to control and secure mobile devices, applications, and data within the compliance guidelines of a business.  Mobile Application Management (MAM) is an MDM technology used on external BYOD devices to apply light touch management on an application-level basis, providing remote management of only the application.
